Food sensitivities.
Reactions to food that don't show up on allergy testing but still affect how you feel.
The gut connection.
Food sensitivities are delayed reactions to foods, distinct from true food allergies. They produce symptoms hours to days after eating: bloating, fatigue, headaches, skin patterns, joint discomfort, brain fog.
Food sensitivities are usually a symptom of underlying gut permeability or dysbiosis. We address the gut alongside the food reactions so the list of trigger foods shrinks over time.
How patients describe it.
- Symptoms hours to days after eating, not immediately
- Reactions that vary in intensity day-to-day
- Multiple foods triggering similar reactions
- Symptoms that feel like 'I just don't feel well'
- Skin or joint patterns alongside gut symptoms
- Reactions to foods you used to tolerate fine
Food sensitivities are usually a signal that the gut needs work. Once we rebuild it, the list of reactive foods shrinks back down. Dr. Abbie Siudzinski, ND
How we work through it.
Testing identifies the foods triggering inflammatory reactions. We pair it with stool analysis to understand the gut picture underneath.
The plan often involves a targeted elimination of trigger foods, gut healing protocols, and a structured reintroduction so the list of reactive foods shrinks back down.
In Dr. Abbie's experience, many patients notice broad changes within 6 to 12 weeks, and some can reintroduce foods that previously caused reactions once the gut is supported. Results vary.
Tests we typically use here.
The specific panels depend on your situation. These are the most common ones for multiple food sensitivities.
Testing is ordered only after your 90-minute first visit, and only when it will change your plan.
